OK…I’ve signed up for the Permission-based wireless communication service, and now I want to get started. What do I do first?
You will first want to log-in and complete your profile information such as the drivers you wish to monitor, your cell phone carrier, change your password, etc. Once you have completed this process, your profile will be complete. There is one last step which will be completed from your cell phone. You need to authorize text messages to be received on your phone. A text message will be received asking you to approve the communications. Simply reply to the message with just a Y for “yes”. Instructions will be in the message. You are now setup completely and will receive messages for the race.

Is this service free?

We are providing this service free of charge for select Shell customers. However, you may be charged by your cell phone service provider for receiving text messages. If you are unsure, please contact your service provider for assistance.

How many alerts can I have?

Currently, we only have text message alerts available for US Motorsports. Two text messages will be sent out per race, qualifying statistics and race results. You can subscribe to as many drivers as you wish however it is recommended that you select less than 20.

When the system sends a message, how many characters are allowed?
Message sizes can vary depending upon how many drivers you have selected. But different carriers have slightly different limits on the maximum size limit of 1 message. Usually you'll be able to receive approximately 120 – 160 characters. This site supports the Short Message Service (SMS) protocol. If the number of drivers you select exceeds your carrier limit, it may break the message up into multiple messages. Please be aware that you will be charged through your carrier for multiple messages.

What if people want to unsubscribe?
TextResultsNow is an FCC "Can SPAM" compliant site. People can unsubscribe and change message preferences by simply visiting your Account Profile. Unclick on the checkbox that enables messages to be sent out.

Which carriers are supported?

Many carriers are supported but right now we are only servicing the US. In your Account Profile page, there is a listing of various carriers. Please select the correct carrier you have.

My cell phone service provider is not in your list.  What should I do?

Please contact us and we will try to add support for your service provider as soon as possible.

Which devices are supported?

All devices that are capable of text messaging are supported.
